Unusually Lytham opens with a Par 3 and the immediate holes that follow have a railway out of bounds running all along the right side. So from the outset i’s all guns blazing, it will not allow you to relax into a round. The usual mixture of 6 hard, 6 medium and 6 soft holes does not appear to be evident. What you get is one of the largest collections of tough bunkering, natural dunes, often howling winds to keep you honest resulting in a historical golfing walk that’s best summed up as one of the most unique links experiences available.
