One of England’s top heathland courses, located some 700 feet above sea level it is constantly exposed to strong winds. There are two great courses here the Old and the New both consisting of classic heathland qualities; sandy soil, heather, bracken, gorse, tall pines and silver Birch.
Walton Heath has impressive historical connections that include its first professional in 1904. Notable members have included Winston Churchill, Prince of Wales and Lloyd George.

It is the only club in the world to have had a reigning monarch as its captain, when the then Prince of Wales became Edward VII during his captaincy in 1935/36. Walton Heath has hosted over 60 major amateur and professional championships. This includes the 1981 Ryder Cup, 5 European Open Tournaments, 1991, 1989, 1987, 1980, 1978. Most recently Walton Heath held the 2002 English Amateur Championship.
