Waterford Castle

Waterford Castle Hotel and Golf Club is unique and a truly romantic destination. The 16th century castle is set upon its own private 310-acre island accessed via a private ferry, allowing you to truly leave the rest of the world behind you and relax. Once inside the Great Entrance Hall, guests are greeted by original oak panelled walls, stone walls, tapestries and a huge open log fire. There are 19 period bedrooms, including four deluxe Four Poster suites. Modern comfort and luxury and the castle’s elegant history have been wonderfully combined.

We highly recommend that you dine in The Munster Room Restaurant (2 AA Rosettes 2000-2007), delivering a wonderful experience dining within the oak panelled room, while listening to the pianist play.

The hotel also boasts a wonderful parkland golf course, designed by Des Smyth, former Ryder Cup player. Opened in 1992, this 18-hole, par 72, championship golf course leads you through mature woodland and parkland. A full range of other outdoor activities is available including shooting, fishing and horse-riding.
