The Bushmills Inn

The Bushmills Inn is a truly memorable place that will suit couples and groups alike. It has a wonderfully warm, welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. The old coaching Inn, behind the Main Street frontage, is thought to date back to 1608 when ‘ Old Bushmills’ was granted the world’s first ever license to distil whiskey. The main hotel was built in the 1820’s as part of a major redevelopment of the town. The inn quickly became a haven for saddle-sore visitors on their way to the Giant’s Causeway – it was here they would stop to sample the whiskey that made this charming village internationally famous.

The Bushmills Inn offers spacious and creatively designed guest rooms, all of which have their own sitting room area, small dressing room and, of course, private bathrooms.

The Gas Bar has a Victorian feel, with period gas lights after which the bar was named. You could sample a glass of 25 year-old Bushmills malt whiskey from the hotel’s private cask, while you anticipate the delights of dining in the award winning restaurant. The “Taste of Ulster” restaurant welcomes visitors all day for an imaginatively planned selection of dishes or snacks, prepared of course, from the best Co. Antrim produce. The restaurant is housed in the original 17th century stables and wine cellar. The food on offer is a unique blend of classical and new Irish cuisine, for example, well aged, pan fried peppered fillet of beef flamed in Bushmills whiskey.
